About This Quote
The majority of my patients consisted not of believers but of those who had lost their faith. In this quote, Dr. Albert Ellis describes the attitude that many people have when they have been hurt by people in their lives. He sees these people as “lost,” rather than as unhappy.
In fact, he sees them with a hope for being fixed. Don’t get me wrong! People with a broken sense of self can be fixed too. They can find a new self which can give them a new chance at happiness and a better life.
But, most people who have a broken sense of self don’t know they have a broken sense of self because they didn’t realize it until it was shattered forever.
